Hello, I’m Joshua Mah
I’m a junior graphic designer who lives in Coquitlam, B.C. of the Lower Mainland. I have a passion for illustrating vector graphics and image compositions and editing such as touching up photos and making digital visual compositions. My main goals are to create a growing relationship within the graphic design industry and showcase what I, a designer with mild autism can create by demonstrating my skills and being able to express my thoughts and emotions through visual and verbal explanations.
I strive to continuously expand my creativity and investigate new concepts in the ever-evolving graphic design field. I have strong skills in branding, visual identity, color theory, UI/UX design, and the Adobe Creative Suite. Creating outstanding and unique designs and compositions is what I aim to do through graphic design as well as being able to show and explain my thought process of making the artifact.
After completing the Graphic Design Certificate program at BCIT in 2024, the tools and techniques I learned gave me a stronger understanding of colors, visuals, pictures/icons, and graphics, it’s about what you’re trying to communicate to the world and society as well as contributing to companies and brands through brand making and rebranding. The program gave me insight into how graphic design is more than first perceived and expanded my outlook into the wide range of related digital design fields.
During my free time, I like to create compositions and turn my imagination into a reality, as well as create illustrations and posters that are inspired by existing media. There are times when I’ve ideas in my head and then I want them to become a reality - graphics has opened the door for new tools, techniques and approaches for self-expression.
