Located in New Westminster, B.C., Daxio Design is a design agency that specializes in Graphic Design, Logos and Branding, Print, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and much more. Daxio aims to help multiple businesses by creating and developing thier identity as well as helping them accomplish their goals. They do their best in getting things done quickly and professionally, hence what the dragonfly symbolizes in their logo.
Here, you will see what projects I have been working on for the company. I wanted to gain insight of what the Graphic Design industry is like and add some more projects to my portfolio to showoff what I can do. Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator were used to create these graphics.
First Project: Social Media Graphic - "Is your brand feeling tired?"
This was my first time making a design for a real design agency since I needed to get experience for my portfolio. Working on the designs helped me further practice my knowledge and learning experience from BCIT. The company wanted me to use a tired dog as the image for the graphic. This is to show to the viewers that they could do some updates with their brands if they wanted to make changes as well as adding a bit of silliness to brighten people's days.
Six variants were made so I can show everyone what kind of ideas I have in mind and there would be something to choose from. Out of all the designs, this variant was chosen due to the slanted grey bar, which has more visual interest instead of a rectangle-based layout. The colors and theme are intentionally based from the Daxio website to match the brand and being consistent with the design.
Second Project: North Shore Family Services Annual Report Cover & Social Media Graphic
Similar to the SONY Sustainability Report, this is to show people or the audience the performance of how well the family service is doing. In addition to the annual report, the goal of the social media graphic is to spread awareness to brands/companies. This is for the readers by telling them that if they want to make improvements or any changes, they can contact Daxio for the work.
The design style and vibrant colors expresses a family-friendly enviornment, since this annual report is intended for a local family service business. The bright, vibrant colors give the design a happy mood and it stands out from others, whereas the cartoony style engages the audience because of how appealing the design is.
